Ireland goes through spasms of chatter about the need for "media balance." The highly selective nature of this concern is amply revealed by this RTE (state broadcaster) story on the death following an arranged fight of mixed martial arts fighter Joao Carvalho. Every quote in the story is from people representing entities with a stake in the fight, and the quotes themselves have a strong PR flack whiff about them. Where's the balance?
